In honor of our 10th anniversary, we’re excited to announce a new addition to the Fairy Tale Review website: Fairy-Tale Files. Each installment of Fairy-Tale Files will feature three variations—popular or obscure, local or international, artistic or gauche—of a fairy tale chosen by one of Fairy Tale Review’s Assistant Editors (MFA students in creative writing at The University of Arizona). Fairy tales currently under the microscope include Baba Yaga, Tam Lin, The Boy Who Went Forth to Learn What Fear Was, and more!
As our 10th anniversary aligns with the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz—see The Emerald Issue, newly released—we’re hosting a special, Oz-themed edition of Fairy-Tale Files. This Oz-Stravaganza will launch on Tuesday, February 18th, 2014. Every day for ten days, we’ll post three takes on the original Oz series by L. Frank Baum. From obscure silent films to yellow-brick theme parks to scientific discoveries, the Oz files are bound to delight and mystify fairy-tale enthusiasts of all kinds.
Join us in celebrating 10 years of wonderfully shocking fairy-tale work!
